Nora's new favorite thing

Dear Granny D,
I love my Kelty backpack.
Mom and dad take me everywhere in it.
I can't wait to see you and Grandpa, and cool aunt Sarah, and great grandma and everyone else at Thanksgiving.
Love,
Nora

(Dictated by Nora to me, at least I think that is what she meant by "Ba! ba ba ba ba! buh ba! ba bvvvvvvvv!)

First day of "school"

When I was growing up, my mom always took a picture of me on the first day of school. Well, I don't know if Nora starting daycare part time is quite the same, but it felt like a very momentous occasion, so I figured we should document what she was wearing. Her shirt used to be a dress, but she got too tall! She was 27.5 inches and 20 lb 5oz at her 9 month doc appointment. Nora is going to a small daycare here in Scottsdale part time. She seems to like it - when I drop her off she doesn't even look back at me, but just starts playing with the other babies. They all crawl around together like a little herd. BTW, Nora is crawling full speed ahead, pulling herself up on everything, cruising a little, and trying to stand by herself. Back to daycare, there is a little boy, Tony, at the center that is a little older than Nora and I say that he's her daycare boyfriend. She seems to be having fun there, but that doesn't make it any easier for me. I cried last week after dropping her off... But I will say that now when I pick her up in the afternoon, I try to be 100% mommy with her because I want to make sure I am totally present in the time we do have together and not distracted.

We're getting more settled in here and the weather is getting beautiful. I'm working part time at ASU and "telecommuting" as well. Well, that is what I called it when I answered a bunch of phone calls from the park with Nora, lol!
